Jets & Guns!

We spent last weekend flying home to New Jersey and getting the chance to go to Monday Night Football and watch my NY Jets (FAB!) win against the Miami Dolphins (not FAB).  We got up there Saturday night late so the festivities didn't really start till Sunday.  Sunday was spent shooting shotguns and watching footballs and going to the local bar called Calloways...great food too!  D. had never shot skeet so he had a blast getting to smash the clay discs.  He wasn't a bad shot either!  I actually hit 2, but don't ask how many I didn't hit.

Monday we spent the day showing D. the "shore" I grew up at and getting our tailgate all ready.  The food..OMG did we have a ton of food.

Menu:
Littleneck Clams, Clam Chowder from the 2011 Chowderfest Winner "California Grill", Steak, London Broil, Polish and Italian Sausage, Fresh Mozzarella and Pepperoni, Chicken & Crab Legs....Not to mention beer, wine and champagne.

A NY Jets staffer took a picture of us and said we had the best food he had seen at a tailgate.  We know how to do it right!  Tuesday came and we were exhausted and it was time for us to leave the Garden State and head back to the Palmetto State.  I am so glad that we did this for the 2nd year in a row and can't wait till next year!  J-E-T-S! Jets! Jets! Jets!

Wouldn't be a game without cigars from Nick's Cigar World

What I'm Loving Wednesday...Wedding!

I am loving that Cinderella and Prince Charming are getting married this weekend and I get to be a fairy bridesmaid!

No, in all seriousness it is my FAB! friends Tosca and Brad, but they are getting married at a castle...the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC!  It's going to be magical but better then that Disney kind of way!

These two mean the world to me and I am so happy for them!  I have a special friendship with each of them and am honored they wanted me by their sides on their big day!

Some NYE fun!

Summer Adventures - Firefly Distillery

Back in May I had made a list (view list here) of tourist things I wanted to do this summer.  Due to a crazy schedule this summer trying to get them done started to become a cloud over my head. But now I get to check one off my list.  Last weekend I had some friends from NJ come into town and a I tried to plan a lovely weekend for them in Charleston since they had never been there before.  We stayed at my favorite place Meeting Street Inn which has a lovely happy hour every day for free and a wonderful free breakfast.  Ask for Darren!

There is a step stool cause the bed is so high!

After arriving we had a great lunch at Amen Street.  I had never been here before and it was FAB!  I had the baked brie and she crab soup.  But the best was my Rum Peach Bellini that was AMAZING!

The Rum Floater totally makes it!

Great on a hot SC day!

We finished up the day shopping, a wine tasting at Charleston Tobacco & Wine and then dinner at the wonderful 39 Rue de Jean.  I had the Mussels in a vegetable cream sauce!  FAB!

The next day my girlfriends from Myrtle Beach met us at the Fresh Market for breakfast crepes! I had the Ham, Salami, Tomato and Cheese crepe and it was beyond great. We completed it with us sharing a Chocolate, Banana & Nutella crepe!

After crepes we were off to the Firefly Distillery!  I love Firefly Sweet Tea vodka and I was so excited to do a little tasting.  Ironically, my College was having an alumni event there and Marcie and I got to see one of our sorority sisters!

<3 EK!

The Distillery is out in the middle of nowhere but a beautiful drive through the mossy oaks!  There is also a vineyard but word to the wise...do not try the wines, stick to the hard stuff!  Its a great place to bring a picnic lunch and just enjoy the nature and all the music and fun happening at the distillery.  I hope you get a feel for it through these pics.  I am going to be out that way again in September and I can't wait to bring D. and just spend the afternoon out there.

Adventures in Kayaking

Last weekend D. and I went to Hilton Head/Bluffton to visit his family.  His mom is an AVID kayaker and wanted to bring us out for a morning row? (Is that the term?)  We ended up going up the May River for 3 MILES all around Myrtle Island, which I thought was the perfect place considering we live in Myrtle Beach.  I have to say I held my own, thanks to my friend Molly's boot camp.  It was very peaceful on the water. We didn't see any dolphins, but some birds and really nice homes.  Here are couple of photos.  I really enjoyed it and just wish I didn't live in a condo so I could invest in my own kayak.  Some day....

That's my boat!

What I love Wednesday!

It's that time of the week to link up with Jamie over at This Kind of Love!

I am loving that my two cousins are coming to visit!  They mean the world to me and I love as we get older we get closer.  To bad we live so far away but they are so great to come see me since I am too swamped with work to get to the Northeast this summer.

I love that I had the best weekend in Pinehurst with D.  We got to surprise our friends who live there and we also got to play Pinehurst #5 which was such a treat since I have never played there.
The whole weekend was just terrific!

I love that this weekend I am having my personal grand opening for my new Cigar Lounge.  I am so excited for my friends to see all of the hard work that went into it and to break the place in...(not break the place)

Lastly, I am loving that it's Father's Day Weekend and the US Open. I kind of feel like they go hand in hand.  I can't wait for beach time and a cookout with my family.  I am so lucky to not only have my Dad live by me, but to get to work with him everyday and "make it work".  It's a special relationship we have and I am so thankful for Big Nick!

Weekend Recap - All Things Charleston Part II

So I had one of the best weekends in a long time!  One of my bestie's Miss Sara Bernadette  had her bachelorette party in my favorite city....Charleston!

Myself and two others drove down after work to join the other 5 at the house we rented.  It was the cutest house ever and worked out great.  So much better then if we had just gotten hotel rooms!

The first night was pretty much slumber party fun!  We had some great pizza from Andolini's and then opened up gifts...we all thought Victoria Secret's was appropriate.

The night consisted of playing what I like to call the Goddess Game.  We basically talked about all our experience from our first kiss, to our first crush and more romantic moments.  But then it was time to get competitive with a great game of cranium!  My team (team 2) won of course!  But that game wasn't enough...we thought we would go back in time and play some flip cup...great and bad idea!  Team 2 won again, thanks to Karin for holding the team together!

Our Beautiful Bride to be!

Clue was Engagement Ring...with six fingers

The next morning we got up to get on our yacht for the day in Charleston Harbor.  It was a beautiful day and the weather was phenominal.

I'm on a boat
After our day on the boat we came back to our cute house and got ready for dinner...but we did make sure to get a quick flip cup game in before the cabs came(CABS HEERRREEE!!!)...it was a funny site to see all the ladies in their rollers and half makeup done playing around the table.  *we had to make sure we didn't get our dresses dirty.

Dinner was at a restaurant called O-ku.  Unfortunately I don't have very good things to say about this place, but it was packed and I think everyone else really enjoyed it.  I personally would never go back, but I am not a sushi fan so it's not my thing.  The atmosphere was pretty cool.

We then hit the town and started with a cocktail at 39 Rue de Jean..MY FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT IN CHARLESTON!  We had a shot (Royal Flush, the signature Myrtle Beach Shot) and then headed onto Henrys.

When we got to Henry's we decided to play a game with the I.O.U. Bare to Dare Game cards. I had to get a guy to show me his hairy chest...some others had to get a condom, get serenaded, take off your bra, get a phone number...

My hairy guy!

After a great time here we headed over to Mad River and danced up a storm.  Sara even had a dance off and let me tell you...she did great! We closed down the night by going to Light..which I can not put my finger on.  It was part sleazy and part fun?  Go figure but the dancing was great.  After a long night of dancing it was time to call it quits.
Tired and Sweaty girls!

Sunday morning came early and headed out of town back to MB.  To tie in the whole weekend together, D and I went to see Bridesmaids.  Hilarious!!! Even D. thought it was great.  I also happened to run into one of my brides who's wedding I will be in August so that was great treat to watch with her and two other "maids".  I highly recommend seeing it!
