Jam Packed Weekend

This weekend was whirlwind!  I will just give a quick recap cause my week is hectic and I know I have been missing in action:

Friday:  Finished the final touches on my cigar lounge & had a dinner at Logan's Roadhouse with some old friends that live in CT and NJ.  It was great to catch up and see them and reminisce about our old days of all of us working together at the golf club.  Wish they lived closer but at least they still come to visit.    We then finished dinner with drinks at the new 2nd Avenue Pier.  This place is great and even though it was dark out it was still nice to sit by the ocean with cocktails.  God, I love where I live.

Saturday:  Was a very big and exciting day.  We opened Nick's Cigar Lounge.  Everything went perfectly and I am so relieved to have it up and running.  Still waiting on a couple of photos for the walls and a couple of more tables and then I will post about the finished product.  We have our first event there on Wednesday night so I will post about our Challenge Your Palate event with Ashton Cigars.  Saturday evening was spent down in Murrell's Inlet with my new man D. and my friends Evan and Beth.  We went to get some good low country seafood at Sara J's.  Three of us had the Shrimp and Grits (FAB!) and the other had stuffed shrimp. It was a great dinner and we had the best view!  Since it is Harley Davidson Rally this week we had cocktails and listened to a great rock band at Causeway just down the street...the people watching was pretty FAB! too...

View on the deck!

Sunday:  Thankfully Sunday was just a perfect and relaxing day to get me geared up for this week.  Had a nice breakfast with D. at the barrel  (cracker barrel) and then spent the afternoon by the pool reading my new book Summer in the City by Candace Bushnell.  This book is a must read if you are a fan of hers.  I am obsessed with all things Carrie Bradshaw so I had to get this, I do suggest reading The Carrie Diaries first.

This week is a big one, Monday: RHONJ season premiere!, Wednesday: Challenge Your Palate Event, Friday-Sunday: Wedding in Athens, GA...

Summer Adventures

So this year I am completely swamped with weddings and babies...it's complete overload but in a good way.  I am happy for my friends and as long as they don't get too bridezilla everything will be FAB!  But I am just itching to do something different this summer.

Every year I try to make a summer resolution.  Last year it was to go to the beach more often, since I live there and I think I did very well.  I even had a Beach Field Day for my 31st birthday.  So this summer, I want to play tourist, but in a good way.  No I won't have my fanny pack but I will have my camera.  So I am starting my list of what I want I want to see and do in my area.  I mean is 13 million people can come and do it, why can't I as a local?

1. Go to Alligator Adventure.  I have never been and my whole family went a couple of times when I was a kid.  I have no idea how I got left out.  However, I will be skipping the snake exhibit. But they do have Gators, and Turtles, and Beavers!  Oh My!

2. Visit Bald Head Island, NC.  First of all you get to take ferry over there...WAY COOL!  And I love little villages with great little cafes and shops.  I think it sounds like a great afternoon, especially if I can incorporate a round of golf as well!

3.  I have said this before and it really should be my number #1...Hopsewee House for a plantation tour and and afternoon tea with my girls.  I do not drink hot tea (only the sweet stuff), but there is always a first for everything.

4. The old Dixie Stampede will now be the Pirates Voyage.  I am a sucker for dinner and shows, so I will have to see if the new Pirates are just as good as the Horse Trick Riding.

5.  I want to go to Charleston and check out the Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka factory...The two subjects in that sentence just sounds FAB! let's see...Charleston (check) & Sweet Tea Vodka (check)!

Wedding Unity?

One of my FAB! friends is getting married in August and she is looking for something for the mothers to do as a uniting of the two families.  She isn't into the typical Unity Candle or Pouring Sand into a Vase.  We were racking our brains last night trying to come up with something.

So my blogging friends and readers I am asking for suggestions or ideas!  Thanks...
