Challenge - 8 FEARS!

Today is 8 fears...and since I fear all these things I am not posting any pictures.

1. Pretty obvious, losing my family members & Gigi.
2. Clowns.  I don't know what it is but they really scare me.  Will never go to the circus.
3. Snakes. slithering, creepy snakes....GROSS
4. Being embarrassed in public
5. Needles are no fun, but I think most people think that way
6. Falling down stairs.  I think it comes from when I was 6 and fell down a whole flight of stairs at my uncles cabin, but lived to tell about it
7. Having feet on me.  My roommates in college used to pin me down and rub them on me to get answers.  It was like Chinese Water Torture.
8.Shrinking clothes..I buy everything a size larger and even though I hang most things I end up shrinking everything.  I stink at laundry.

JAMIE

What I love Wednesday!

It's that time of the week to link up with Jamie over at This Kind of Love!

I am loving that my two cousins are coming to visit!  They mean the world to me and I love as we get older we get closer.  To bad we live so far away but they are so great to come see me since I am too swamped with work to get to the Northeast this summer.

I love that I had the best weekend in Pinehurst with D.  We got to surprise our friends who live there and we also got to play Pinehurst #5 which was such a treat since I have never played there.
The whole weekend was just terrific!

Pinehurst CC
Pinecrest Inn

I love that this weekend I am having my personal grand opening for my new Cigar Lounge.  I am so excited for my friends to see all of the hard work that went into it and to break the place in...(not break the place)

Lastly, I am loving that it's Father's Day Weekend and the US Open. I kind of feel like they go hand in hand.  I can't wait for beach time and a cookout with my family.  I am so lucky to not only have my Dad live by me, but to get to work with him everyday and "make it work".  It's a special relationship we have and I am so thankful for Big Nick!

XOXO

What I love Wednesday!

Top five things I am obsessed with this week!

1.  Cool Ranch Doritos...I had them Friday and now I can't get enough, which is bad cause I started boot camp this week.  Time to stop this obsession...

2.  My weekend getaway with D.  He has planned the whole thing and I wish it was Friday already!  I am so lucky!!!!!!!!

3.  I just got the new Shellac nail polish put on in Tropix...I can't wait to put it to the test and the color is more of a watermelon color..really FAB!

4.  My new putter that I am waiting to come in...The Odyssey Divine Rossie  ***in pink!

5.  Meredith Vieira left the Today show this morning.  I cried and I laughed.  I have been an avid viewer since I was 18.  I have made two appearances on the show and having Meredith leaves makes me a little sadden.
I wish I could have a shirt like Kathy Lee and Hoda....(thanks Jenn)

3.  I created my own rapture today but going through my FB friend list and giving people my own little axe..

4. I have to find some motivation to get myself to the gym today...thank god for my new book the Summer and the City

Summer Adventures

So this year I am completely swamped with weddings and babies...it's complete overload but in a good way.  I am happy for my friends and as long as they don't get too bridezilla everything will be FAB!  But I am just itching to do something different this summer.

Every year I try to make a summer resolution.  Last year it was to go to the beach more often, since I live there and I think I did very well.  I even had a Beach Field Day for my 31st birthday.  So this summer, I want to play tourist, but in a good way.  No I won't have my fanny pack but I will have my camera.  So I am starting my list of what I want I want to see and do in my area.  I mean is 13 million people can come and do it, why can't I as a local?

1. Go to Alligator Adventure.  I have never been and my whole family went a couple of times when I was a kid.  I have no idea how I got left out.  However, I will be skipping the snake exhibit. But they do have Gators, and Turtles, and Beavers!  Oh My!

2. Visit Bald Head Island, NC.  First of all you get to take ferry over there...WAY COOL!  And I love little villages with great little cafes and shops.  I think it sounds like a great afternoon, especially if I can incorporate a round of golf as well!

3.  I have said this before and it really should be my number #1...Hopsewee House for a plantation tour and and afternoon tea with my girls.  I do not drink hot tea (only the sweet stuff), but there is always a first for everything.

4. The old Dixie Stampede will now be the Pirates Voyage.  I am a sucker for dinner and shows, so I will have to see if the new Pirates are just as good as the Horse Trick Riding.

5.  I want to go to Charleston and check out the Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka factory...The two subjects in that sentence just sounds FAB! let's see...Charleston (check) & Sweet Tea Vodka (check)!

Wedding Unity?

One of my FAB! friends is getting married in August and she is looking for something for the mothers to do as a uniting of the two families.  She isn't into the typical Unity Candle or Pouring Sand into a Vase.  We were racking our brains last night trying to come up with something.

So my blogging friends and readers I am asking for suggestions or ideas!  Thanks...

Stress..How to relieve it..

Lately, things in my life have been a little hectic and I it doesn't help that I have been sick with some type of chest cold and runny nose that doesn't stop thanks to the pollen in South Carolina (love you spring, hate the green stuff)!!!  We have our new cigar lounge opening, I'm trying to get my Heiress Cigar launched and I have a million weddings, bridal, bachelorette and baby events, and lets not forget my regular job as well.  So I am trying to think of everything possible to relax that doesn't include a liter of wine, thus creating a hangover and adding to my insane frame of mind.

So it's Tuesday and this is usually my favorite day of the work week.  Monday chaos is behind me and I can get organized for the week, which always ends up being insane even when I think it will be calm.  So here is a list of what I am doing to stop my constant jaw clenching..

1. I have decided to park my car in the back of my store so the random people who come in soliciting me for advertising and nonsense think I am not here...for my friends and people that have appointments...check the back.

2. I am trying my best to rev up my workout schedule, which is very challenging with said schedule above but I know that after a good sweat and ass kicking I feel phenomenal and it's my only "ME" time

3. Actually taking a nice hot bath at night and then enjoying some fun games on my iPad. LINE-UP 2 is my favorite and thanks to Bekah for introducing it to me.

4. Reading my favorite blogs and finding new ones let's me take time to enjoy a little light reading and keep up with the fashions around the country.  Grey Dog Designs, Positively Preppy in Pink, Sara Bernice, Vineyard Loveknots, Wanna Be Southern Belle....

5. Crosswords...I know many people find them annoying and challenging.  I have been doing them everyday for years, and it's just puts me at ease...go figure! Especially when 1 ACROSS is four letter word for N.C. University, and it's not DUKE...try ELON!!!

Handwriting Tag

I've had a really bad day so far at work, so I thought I would take a moment to check up on my blog following and I came across this from the lovely Lindsay at Vineyards Loveknots.  So I thought this would a be a good blog to copy to bring me back to my Happy Place before Big Nick and I kill each other.  You must know I have a ton of little yellow pads at work cause that is all Big Nick will use, and I do EVERYTHING in red ink...except sign checks.   According to the Mexican exchange office, that makes them invalid (circa 1999).  So here is it...

Questions...
1. Your name and name of your blog
2. Your blog address
3. Your favorite quote
4. Favorite Songs
5. Write this!
6. Tag 3 People
7. Anything else!

I tagged the lovely ladies of Grey Dog Designs, The Glorious Blog of Sara Bernice and The Wanna-be Southern Belle...

Spring Time Evening Out (Vineyard Vines)

I may not have a kid, but that doesn't mean I'm not a mom...

As most of my friends know I am just not quite sure that the whole "children" thing is something that I want for my future.  And I know you can never understand the love of something until you have your own..blah, blah, blah.  But the thing is I do have my own.  I have Gigi!!  The most FAB! dog in the universe.

While in the vet office I was thinking about how I may not be a mother to a human, but I am still a mother. Here I was sitting in the office with my very scared fury child getting her yearly shots and I see an article about grandparents who love their "granddogs".  In case you don't know it's "baby boomers without grandkids and pets are the next best thing".  See even Dog Fancy gets it!

I later then had to take care of my very sick and sore child the rest of the evening.  I was even up at 4:30 am cleaning up her upset stomach and behind all the while making sure she knew I knew it wasn't her fault.  The whole day she has spent sleeping and limping around while I carry her up and down the stairs cause she can't do it herself.  If that isn't motherly love I don't know what else is.

So I thought I would compile a list of successful women, who have made the choice to not have kids and have their Doggie Children instead, and quite frankly don't give a damn when people go "so you really don't want kids????"

1. Oprah...She doesn't need a husband or kids!  Sadie is perfect for her
2. Jennifer Aniston...just wish the media would lay off her and her precious Norman
3. Jessica Biel...Hello Justin and her bitbull Tina...sounds like she got her sexy back!
4. Eva Mendes...Awesome Latin woman who loves her Hugo
5. Rachel Ray...Her dog Isaboo even has it's own line of dog food!

It's March 1st...Winter is over!

For many of you March 1st doesn't mean anything to you, but to us southerners is a big freaking deal.  Winter is over and we can start our Spring - FAB!.  And living in a town dependent on tourism, it really means time to make some $$$$$.  I have complied a list of all the things I am excited to do now that Spring is now upon us:

  1. First and foremost, golf season is underway and I can start to see some good revenue numbers.  Not to mention opening up my lounge!
  2. Golf...without having to wear a jacket.  Swing easy!
  3. All outdoor activites with friends: BBQ's, Cornhole, waterfront Happy Hour, Beach days!
  4. New fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables
  5. Wardrobe changes with a spring feel to them.  Flowers, pastels, nautical stripes and WHITE (okay not till after memorial day)
  6. Outdoor Festivels on Main St. in NMB and also Market Commons
  7. A trip to the Hopesweee Plantation with some of my girls for afternoon tea and luncheon
  8. Wedding season, filled with bridal showers, bachelorette parties and weddings
  9. Hopefully seeing my family for Easter or Spring Break
  10. Viva la Mexico, can't wait to go!!!

Christmas 2010

Every year I create a Christmas list for my family.  Some items are ridiculous and some practical.  So here is this years list for the most part:

#1 The first item always goes to the most ridiculous item that I could only really hope and dream for.  So this year I am paying homage to the lady herself Coco Chanel.  I flipped for this necklace when I saw it in Devil Wears Prada and now I have seen it on a couple of TV shows.

#2 I love all things Michael Kors.  He is my favorite designer besides said woman above.  I love the bags, jewelry, clothes, etc.  His new watches are part of the new big style but still have a feminine feel to them.  I love the Silver Parker Glitz!

#3 Of course who doesn't love a great pair of flats.  I have been drooling over these ever since they came out.  The REVA is the best flat out there.  They do fit small, I take a 9.5 and I normally where a 8.5.  I think super cute and who doesn't love Tory Burch

#4.  I am obsessed with all things Gossip Girl and Blair Waldorf.  So in perfect fashion I of course have chosen the Tiffany Key necklace that she received when she became a member of Hamilton House

#5 Who doesn't love a great hat and Scarf set.  Vera Bradley has come out with their new line of winter gear.  I used to collect all things Vera but fell out of love with the patterns.  But I love this one new pattern so why not sport it!

#6  I recently got an IPAD and need a cover for it.
The online company http://cesupplystore.com/ has great deals and great colors.

#7  I collect Pandora charms and only have a bit of room left on my all silver bracelet.  So I love the doggie for my little GIGI, the clover to hopefully always bring me good luck and the seashell for living on the coast.

#8  Every morning I wake up and walk the dog and the most annoying this getting my feet wet from the morning dew.  So I realize that some rain boots would be quite practical.  Target has a bunch and in really cute colors and designs.  I think about 20 in all.

#9 Since we spend about 1/3 of our life in bed it's time for me to get some new pillows.  Costco has the Charisma 2 pack on sale!  I can see the sweet dreams already!

#10  And last but not least...The Victoria Secret Pillow Talk Pajamas Set.  I'm a tank and pants kinda girl and not only do they have cute patterns, you get a free set of slippers with them (code VS10SLEEP)! They also come in pant lengths, which is great considering I am only 5'3".
