Wedding Weekend!

One of my closest girl friends here in Myrtle Beach is getting married tomorrow to the best man!  I am so excited for them and the new chapter in their lives.  She is going to be a ridiculously hot bride!  Can't wait till tomorrow!  Love you Sara and Jason

Adventures in Kayaking

Last weekend D. and I went to Hilton Head/Bluffton to visit his family.  His mom is an AVID kayaker and wanted to bring us out for a morning row? (Is that the term?)  We ended up going up the May River for 3 MILES all around Myrtle Island, which I thought was the perfect place considering we live in Myrtle Beach.  I have to say I held my own, thanks to my friend Molly's boot camp.  It was very peaceful on the water. We didn't see any dolphins, but some birds and really nice homes.  Here are couple of photos.  I really enjoyed it and just wish I didn't live in a condo so I could invest in my own kayak.  Some day....

Bachelorette...Team JP

 

YAY for JP!  I was so excited when Ashley picked JP on last night's Bachelorette.  I can't believe I got so sucked into the show.  Don't get me wrong Ben was sweet but JP is a man's man.  He put it best..."She can love two guys but only be in love with one!"  They were so cute on the after show.  And can we talk about that diamond that just blinded you.  Nice job Neil Lane, ABC and JP...

So who is watching Bachelor Pad?  I think I am gonna pass on that one..too much crying!

Thankful Thursday

 I'm thankful...for my new Costco Membership.  I got my protein shakes, trail mix, Quinoa and Fuze..all at a discount price!

 I'm thankful... for my wonderful boyfriend D. who everday makes my life better without even trying

 

 I'm thankful... for my friends who stand by me that I missed so much after being out of town for a week!

 I'm thankful... for my best friend Jeanne having a beautiful, healthy adorable baby girl Addison, even if I didn't hold her. 

 I'm thankful... to be going out of town this weekend to Hilton Head with D. to recharge our batteries, spend some QT time and "meet the parents"

Shagging on the Boulevard

So lately D. and I have been talking about picking up a new hobby.  This weekend I will be going kayaking for the first time so I will let you all know how that goes.  But there has been one thing in particular both of us said "Hey that might be fun".  Ever since I was a little girl in NJ, I  have been obsessed with the Shag. It started when my sister and I saw the movie and became completely hooked.  I had no idea then, that one day I would be living in Myrtle Beach (home of the Shag).

So when I returned from Vegas, D. had my birthday present ready and waiting.  First was a new pair of Golf Shoes (and yes I may have picked them out), some beautiful flowers and then there was a card I had to open next.  Inside he explained that we would be taking 4 private lessons at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio to ....LEARN TO SHAG!  I was so happy!  After the 4th lesson there is a little showcase at the studio to practice and show off your new moves.  So now our date nights have turned into Dinner and Dancing Dates!  

 

Of course my first thought was I need some new dancing shoes, however Shagging shoes are expensive and NOT FAB!.   So I think I might have to get a new pair of Jack Rodgers to help me get my feet in the grove!

All things Las Vegas!

I have been completely off the map or should I say "on the Strip".  I have been swamped with work and left to go to Las Vegas for my annual cigar show.  It was a blast!  Great times staying at the Venetian! Greatest hotel on the strip.

Envy Steakhouse - Spinach & Goat Cheese Salad with Filet Mignon and Three Cheese Macaronia

Private Dinner at Wolfgang Puck's Postrio - Sausage Cornbread Stuffed Quail

Capital Grille (Birthday Dinner) - Filet Mignon and Butter Poached Lobster with Moet Imperial

I celebrated my birthday with my cigar friends and plenty of Champagne at LAVO (same as Chris Humphries only a couple of days earlier).  It was the best week. 

Then my best friend Tosca had her Bachelorette party at Cosmopolitan!

Her sister did a FAB! job getting everything set up perfectly for the group.  We had dinner at STK (So-So) and also Scarpetta (PHENOMENAL!).  I also found my true calling in my gambling.  Years, I played blackjack and slots, but folks that is no more...I am quite the dice thrower and Craps is my new VICE!

But like the saying goes all good things must come to an end.  It was a long 6 nights (supposed to be 7), and I have to say Vegas beat me.  I love Sin City, but next time I will keep it to just 3 nights!  Till 2013 when I have to return.....

Happy 4th July and Birthday to Jeanne

It's 4th of July!  One of my favorite Holidays of the Year.  I think I love this holiday so much cause it reminds me of all the wonderful summers I spent at "The Jersey Shore" at our yacht club in Beach Haven, LBI!  And now that I live at the beach it's even better knowing I don't have to drive to enjoy it.  We will spend the day on the beach with my family and celebrating my Aunt's birthday then head over to one of our favorite beach bars Coconuts to watch the Cherry Grove Pier Fireworks in North Myrtle Beach. 

I also want to celebrate my Best Friend Jeanne's Birthday!  Not only is she turning another year older but she also will be having a new baby girl any day!  So we have lots to celebrate!  Jeanne is one of the best people I know and is the most loyal and caring friend anyone could ask for!  Love You Paps!
